The company is spending a $100-million investment to improve customer support for users who have reported issues with their social media accounts.
The company also is improving its communication design.
The new technology, called “cognitive engagement,” aims to increase trust among Facebook users.
The aim is to improve the way users understand and respond to questions they get about their account, said David Lippman, Facebook’s chief marketing officer.
The service is available for $19.99 a month, and it will be available for new accounts as well as existing ones.
The product is being developed by Microsoft.
Facebook users will also be able to post to social media channels, such as Instagram and Twitter, that have been upgraded with the new technology.
In addition, Facebook is rolling out a new chat app, called Facebook Messenger, which is free and available to anyone who has a Facebook account.
